off with their heads!
entry no. 002 ♡
apparently christmas has an age limit now.
apparently, turning 18 means i’ve officially aged out of christmas.
which is news to me, considering i’m eighteen, not eighty.
recently, my mother informed me that i don’t need much for christmas anymore because i’m an adult now. an adult. at eighteen. excuse me while i mourn the childhood that was apparently ripped away from me overnight.
and before anyone starts with the whole “christmas isn’t about presents” speech, spare me. i KNOW. i love christmas. i love the decorations, the music, the traditions, the excitement of waking up on christmas morning. but am i seriously supposed to pretend i don’t enjoy opening presents anymore because the government decided i’m old enough to vote?
absolutely not.
and here’s where things get particularly interesting. my sister is in her MID-TWENTIES. a fully grown woman. and guess what? she still gets christmas presents.
also, can we discuss the fact that i’ve spent YEARS saving my own money to buy my mother things she actually wants? i’m practically santa claus with a savings account.
i’m not asking for a yacht. i’m not demanding a diamond necklace. i simply believe that eighteen is an absolutely ridiculous age to start treating someone like christmas morning is just another tuesday.
i have the rest of my life to be a grown woman with bills, responsibilities, and an unhealthy relationship with the price of groceries.
anyways, i WILL be accepting presents this christmas. preferably wrapped, preferably with a bow.
xoxo,
the princess ♡
